My Economy

You see, I wanted to get my economy to "Frightening". But I also wanted to keep my environment green. Is this possible? Or, if it isn't, would it be acceptable RPing to RP my environment as still OK even with the economy?

I assume it would be ok to RP your environment in any condition you want.

A good economy with an environment that still exists? You've gotta be kidding!
The economy is great because you are willing to sacrifice!
Why should birds survive unless they can make a profit? If they were of any value, they would be put in zoos or sold as pets, making the economy flourish. If not, they deserve to be lost for the purpose of economic growth!
Why should forests stand in our way? They are solely around to house the animals. And humanity can do this in the form of zoos. So trees are useless!
The economy isn't for the faint of heart! Only the stone cold can grow economies!
If you're not willing to accept that, then go and flourish in your "trees!" You are unworthy of the frightening economy!

Best thing would be to look through the Got Issues forum, especially the long thread that lists all the issues.

Will do, and thanks.
It's not overly difficult to have both an "envirnmentally stunning nation" - which I possess as well as a good economy - I currently posses a "Powerhouse" level economy. Just work at it. If all else fails, play your nation the way you like.

Well, how did you get there? If it all fails, I'll just RP different than my nation page, but it would be neat to have a good economy and environment.

my other nation, Drunken Irish Folks, is both envirometal and a powerhouse economy. What you have to do is just coose issues that are pro enviroment that dont hurt the economy, and choose pro economy choices that does not hurt the enviroment. If an issue hurts one or the other, dismiss it.

Well, I was up to a "All Consuming" level economy just a little while ago and it went down. But I do possess "a Powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry".
I'm working on it....
And remember, Pythogria, when in doubt you can always dismiss any issue.

i think its true you need to sacrifice some enviroment to have a strong economy, we do that but some enviroment needs to be preserved for future generations. What we take from the enviroment we try to replace as much as possible. Get my drift?
So i thinks its very possible to have a economical powerhouse & a stunning enviroment at the same time!

Well, you see, I was just getting annoyed at every new nation and his cousin having more money than I do.

Do I really need to find more to prove it's possible?

probably yes.
both of these seem to be members of something called an anti-captolist aliance. not that i have any love for capitolism or anything, which i seriously don't, but does one need to be anti-something or another for this to work?

Well, we have a nation in Antarctic Oasis with an All-Consuming economy (powerhouse private sector), who was in the top 500 in the world for Most Beautiful Environments yesterday.
You just need to answer issues in the right way, and I guess compromise a little each way.

"The Indian Soviet Commonwealth of Beth Gellert is a massive, environmentally stunning nation..."
"Economy:Frightening"
Eat your national animal, don't chop-down the forest for uranium (or go half and half on it), subsidise the motor industry then ban cars... then subsidise the industry again... and reinforce the ban on cars. In Nationstates, it is helpful to have no idea what you're doing. And dismiss a lot of stuff, because otherwise you're throwing yourself upon the tides of fate and the random chance of how often you happen to get a particular issue.
Also, don't listen to drunkards who shouldn't be at the computer/awake.

that's pretty close to the same impression i had stone sober. except i don't plan on eating our national animal (the're telepathic, the physical size of rats, and don't taste very good). and simultaniously subsidising the auto industry and banning it bennifiting the environment makes about as much sense as the whole economics thing anyway. i wouldn't be suprised if that really did work. however dismissing issues doesn't seem to work entirely like an ignore cannon. i don't know why it doesn't or shouldn't or can't. but i'd swear i've seen active effects from dismissing on at least some issues as well.

Fuck. I guess that I will just have to accept that my economy is on a roller coaster.
