Whittier's list of National Influence Meanings

I had nothing else to do so I looked up the meaning of the new national influence meanings. The only one I couldn't find was duckspeaker. But what I found about on the 1984 sites pretty much defined it as a propagandist or person who gives out false information to benefit the party. In this list I include "government" in the definition.

Whittier’s list of national influence meanings:

1. Hermit: solitary or recluse
2. Hegemony: the predominant influence of one nation over another nation or region
3. Dominator:
a. To have or exert strong authority or mastery
b. To be situated in or occupy a position that is more elevated or decidedly superior to others

4. Superpower: A powerful and influential nation, especially a nuclear power that dominates its allies or client states in an international power bloc.
5. Power: A person, group, or nation having great influence or control over others: the western powers
6. Powerbroker: A person who exerts strong political or economic influence, especially by virtue of the individuals and votes he or she controls. This is the person who delivers the votes, kind of like the party whips in the US Congress.
7. Eminence Grise: A powerful adviser or decision-maker who operates secretly or unofficially.
8. Enforcer: to compel observance of or obedience to a rule, impose a form of acceptable behavior.
9. Dealmaker: one who makes deals
10. Instigator: one who urges on, or stirs up (foments) conflict
11. Contender: one who strives against difficulties, controversy, or disputes
12. Negotiator: one who confers with others so as to reach terms or agreement.

18. Handshaker: a person who overtly or conspicuously friendly. One who is friendly to impress others or attract notice to themselves.

Might want to add that you got the order from Safalra.

Although, Grazi, I'm sure everybody was wondering what the heck their title meant.

Done, I was meaning to do that. But I think the ranking is going to end up changing in the coming months. Especially when it says that envoy is directly below ambassador but on the list, it's ambassador, diplomat, then envoy.
We'll see though.

Hmm... According to your list, I like to "urge on, or stirs up (foments) conflict."

Yup. Sound like me.

My nation is Lusunia, look me up if you want. I'm a Dealmaker XD. Sounds corny, eh?
I think this addition to the game is really cool.

Yay for the Dominators...

Although I live in my own little region far away from the rest of the universe, so it really does not matter.

Only the mods know the rankings, and they're not sharing that information.

Safalra put them in what he/she believes to be the list, highest to lowest, and that's it. And he didn't just guess the list, he/she did extensive research into XML feeds and regions to develop it.

Actually I believe he went through a lot of regions. For some reason, influence isn't included in the xml feeds.
But like he said in his posts, the listing only reflects things as of now. In a few months things will settle out and we will find out if the Salfara ranking is confirmed or not. But so far, my own research has confirmed his findings. But I have to caution that with a "for the moment". Because we can't be certain due to the feature not being around long enough yet for us to accumulate enough data on it.

the way it seems to look, is the less nations in your region the better. But I think that more like a mirage due to the system not being place for very long.
What does work, from what I've read, is joining the UN and getting as many people to move to your region and endorse you as possible.
Non UN members still go up in influence but more slowly than UN members. UN members with no endorsements likewise grow at a slower pace than UN members who do have endorsements.
Unless I misread the threads and posts.

I think it depends on how much influence the region has a whole and how that influence is divied out to the individual nations within the region.
