I would post your questions in the main thread but since it's the beginning things are pretty unclear and the Mods aren't being too talkative about what it's based on and what the names all mean. Being a 'Backwater' means you're in a small region and in your case no U.N Delegate. But again things are still not certain.

I asked on IRC, but they're not giving that info out just yet. They enjoy tormenting us. :p Apparently, though, they're mostly based on old Jolt user titles, but I haven't been around long to know what they were.

Nobody except the mods. There's a sticky in Technical all about the Regional Influence/Power stuff, and all any of the players knows about it right now.

Times like this I'm glad I joined the NS forums early, just wish I'd done a lot earlier after I joined the game.

They're not mainly based on the old titles though, only 2-3.

Looks alphabetical to me.

From memory, Powerbroker, Negotiator were definetely and possibly Envoy and Diplomat.We did crib from the old titles to fill in the gaps. Some of the discarded levels really didn't fit the theme. Powerbroker, Negotiator, Envoy, and Diplomat were all from the old forums. I think those are the only four, though. I mean, we certainly weren't going to use 'Post-Master General'...
