You can't actually take over other countries, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar. You can, however, take part in roleplays that revolve around invasions of other nations - take, for example, the Danteri Civil War thread. That started off as two warring factions within Danteri, then other nations RPd and got involved with the conflict. Currently, there are three warring factions, one city that's just declared itself a nation of it's own, my half million-strong army has switched from being pro-rebellion to neutral in the wake of a gas attack on our own troops and are now helping to guard the new nation from enemy attacks.
As McPsychoville said, you cannot take over another player's nation in the game proper. While there are rumours of successful roleplayed invaders recieving passwords to the nations they conquered, as far as I am aware they are just that: rumours. Invasions, wars, and conquests that occur via roleplay do not affect the statistics of your nation in the game proper in any way. Game invasions, also known as region-crashing, revolve around taking over the delegacy position of a region and kicking out the native members.
I suggest checking out Euro's Consolidated Help Thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=414152) and reading the stickies. They're threads permanently stuck at the top of the various subforums.
