I am trying to edit my flag and (as we should know) the only way to change it from BITMAP (which I use to make it) to JPEG (which must be used to upload) there is large portions of open red or blue that have dark splotches in it... I dont exactly know how to explain it, but I hope someone will help me with this.
I want to know how to make JPEGs look like solid colors. I dont mind the mushy look of details because that just comes with it, but how do you make sure that the solid colors stay that way?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

easy. dont use MSPaint to convert format. MSPaint is stupid, and will mess up a solid colour if you try to make it JPEG.

Although the upload page says the image must be in JPEG format, you can also use PNG (and even GIF), which is much better suited to flags, and doesn't lose little details.

Do you have a suggestion as to what I should use instead?

PNG cant be uploaded into InvisionFree... and GIF makes a bunch of lines.. do you have any way to stop that? :) Thank you SOO MUCH, what you both have posted has already helped, I was just wondering if you know how to fix that too.

A decent and free image editor is The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/), which is more suitable for flag editing.

I made a slightly bigger version of your current flag, you may use it if you wish.

i think that you should just pick a flag that is offered. but you should pick one that looks the closest to the one you originally designed, just so you would not have to go through so much trouble. make sense?

I strongly disagree with you. Especially because no RL flag would represent swilatia very well.

Me too, then you are just conforming due to pure laziness. I put a lot of hard work into my nations and I would hate to just be part of the crowd.
