Sweet Contradiction, How I Love Thee

Texan Hotrodders

There are often contradictions on my nation page, but today was especially bad. Re-education centers are being added to most prisons even though I have no prisons. There's apparently a massive rich-poor divide despite insane amounts of social welfare, and working-class or unemployed people are being crippled by easily preventable diseases even though the state pays for care of easily preventable diseases.

The Fuel-Injected Federation of Texan Hotrodders is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.609 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

The medium-sized, liberal, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Commerce. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Book Publishing industries.

Education and welfare spending are on the rise, the state pays for care of easily preventable illnesses, citizens must pay to enjoy Texan Hotrodders's pristine beaches, and re-education centers are being added to most prisons. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Texan Hotrodders's national animal is the acceleron, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the dragstrip.

I've always been amused at how my people are both compassionate and cynical.

Hahaha. That's great.

You know those random names in issues? I once got a gay rights activist named George W. Bush, rofl.

diversity is the nature of reality.

people making politics seldom spare a lot of attention for making sense.

'the game' itself, rooted in cynacism, exagerates irony for the sake of satire.

no point in trying to take it for more then it is.

far from me to read anyone's mind, but this seems to be it's author's intent. and if we find a few small pleasures in large appearant incongruities, well then, this i would suspect as being it's only ultimate goal.

Lesser Russia is an environmentally stunning nation, but at the same time miners are making inroads into the jungles.

In one of my nations, the first issue decisions made read: "Voting is compulsory and elections have been outlawed."

Then there are the socially progressive nations that spend nothing on welfare, and the economically powerful nations with imploded economies. :p
