Though I've heard a lot of talk around, and in fact met some myself, I am still baffled as to the workings and threat level of 'raiders'. What the hell are raiders? And what can they do that other invader regions can't?

Invaders prefer to call themselves raiders, but they call defenders "fenders".
If you want join any defender/invader group, see the sticky at this forum. The largest defender group is the ADN and the well known invader group is the DEN, located at the region "The DEN Base"...
