Hello, I need to figure out how large my armed service is?
I have a population of 6 million people and I am a Communist/socialist society with a developing economy. My people are a Compulsory military nation.
Generally, with compulsory military service, one tends to employ about 2-3% of one's population in the military (at slight cost to the economy). Since your economy anyway isn't the strongest, you could conceivably use up to 5% (counting logistics), or 300,000 people.
I just ended up using 500,000 active and reserve force for now...

Using 8.3% of your nations Population would put too much of a strain on your nations economy. It would force your economy into a tailspin that would be worse than the Depression was in the United States.

OCC: I have a current population of 23 Million!
I have compulsery Military Service (age 17-18)!
But as previously spoken i wouldn't want to damage the economy!!!
