I need help on an issue of raising wages

Oceana Coast

I want to keep a strong economy (but I want all the little guys to not suffer too much for it/the rich get richer the poor get poorer, get my drift?)

I dont know what to do for this because I dont know the pizza workers wage, what it costs to live where they do, the average citizens wage, or the minimum wage if ther eis any. 20% over 2 years seems extreme, but what if they make practically nothing? lol >.<

The Issue

Workers across the nation have gone out on indefinite strike over what they claim are substandard wages in the Pizza Delivery industry.
The Debate

1. "We are the backbone of this country, and we demand a fair wage rise!" says union leader Al Steele. "I don't think a 20% increase over two years is too much to ask. Unless the government forces employers to give us our due, we'll shut this whole industry down! Let's see how well Oceana Coast's economy manages without any Pizza Delivery, huh?
[Accept]

2. "We pay our employees very generous wages," says employer representative Gregory Hanover. "Especially when you consider that without us, they'd be OUT ON THE STREET. Hear that, you scumbags? OUT ON THE STREET! Anyway, my point is, if you cave in, you make our entire industry uncompetitive. You can't do that in the global marketplace. It'll hurt the whole country. The best solution, economically speaking, would be to relax industrial laws and allow us to fire troublemakers on the spot."

The 2nd option hurts the little guy, but not so badly that one cannot gain better civil rights with another issue. So, if you want better economy, go with option 2.
