How can a socialist economy be made powerful? Mine is currently imploded, and I've seen many other bad Socialist economies, but I've seen one powerful one.

For one, eat your turkeys when that issue comes up. Other than that, granting subsidies to the automobile manufacturing industry tends to be good if you don't care about pushing up taxes (since you have a 100% income tax rate I'm guessing it isn't a worry for you). I'm sure there's lots more. Your nation's young, there'll be issues you've not yet faced that can help. Trial and error, and a willingness to dismiss issues that you figure out are hurting your economy should soon have it flying. A couple of years ago, Beth Gellert had an imploded economy, and now has a frightening one amongst the world's fastest growing.
Ah, there's a lot of differing opinions on what exactly constitutes socialism, I suppose, and that may be significant. I recently re-allowed private enterprise, but only because the game seems to recognise economies run either by individual capitalists or governmental command, and not the worker self management and communal ownership at work in Beth Gellert. I suppose that you just have to use your imagination.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that.

I pretend that I have a worker capitalism, small cooperative enterprise, government meritocracy, and family syndicate system. Essential industries are controlled by something called a PPC-- Public Private Consortium, a combination of the government and two private organizations like two Registered Family Syndicates. I make all of my decisions pro-union, put in place strong tariffs, and beef up the automotive industry as much as possible. Not socialism, but an interesting variation. I assume every aspect of government is controlled by the citizens assembly, thus maximizing freedoms-- anything that goes against freedom is automatically shot down. Look up Mondragon Cooperative Corporation. You might find it interesting. Another company to look at is Science Applications International it is an ESOC-- Employee Stock Ownership Company.
I also assume that the citizens assembly argues so much that anything that any decisions that won't make a strong positive good impact are dismissed as new issues come up. This comes from an idea called "Direct Democracy". I also put in place a strong conscription system because assembly is very militant and militarily isolationist demanding that every person defend the country with their life against socialism, communism, capitalism and whoever bothers them.

There will be, eventually. There's quite a few more issues now than existed when BG was new. In a way it was easier, back then, because you didn't have to wait so long for new issues to come around. If you want to speed it up, make sure you've got your settings so that you have two issues a day, not one per weekday or anything like that (and just dismiss the ones that don't work well for you).
But, eh, for me, there's no rush. If you want to use your nation for roleplay, a lot of people won't mind too much about the statistics on your nation page so long as you build up a reputation as a reasonable player.
Right, that's enough from me, for now.

Ok. Thanks for your help. Im sure I'll get it eventually, I have had the settings to two issues per day for a week or so.
