Am I missing something

I'm new to NS and find it potentially intriguing, but I have a question. It seems that the only way to change things in your nation is by voting on issues. There doesn't seem to be any other mechanism for affecting the economy, politics or foreign relations.

I have read some of the stickies, but I don't see/understand how the forum interactions change the country/region status.

Can anyone out there explain what I am missing?

Thanks

Nothing. The nation states game is very simple, and is supposed to be that way. I like it like that.

if you are a UN member, UN resolutions also affect your nation's economy, etc...

The main game (gameplay) section and the forums are seperate. Nothing you do on the forums affects your nation in gameplay, but it is important to note that most forum roleplayers expect that you adhere to your nation's gameplay specifications when you roleplay with it, though different people feel differently about just how faithful you ought to be to your nation's "official" description.
