Endorsement Questions

Hey, guys, I'm sure you've seen all the typical "I'm new here, please help me" posts, but...well, yes, I AM new, and YES, I do need help...but don't we all?

Anyway, I'm not normally one for political interest but for some reason, I enjoy this site. I think there's something in the makeup of it that screams "BECOME ADDICTED TO ME!!"

Kind of scary. So! On topic! Can someone explain to me what exactly "Endorsments" are and how they work? How are they good?

Also, there doesn't seem to be many ways to increase the popularity or qualities of your country to me. It seems to me like the site itself messes things up or fixes things on its own..so..how can I take more control of that as obviously some of you have done?

Thanks a lot!

Endorsements determine who becomes the regional UN delegate. The one in the region with the most endorsements automatically becomes the region's UN delegate. If you want to endorse someone to be the delegate, just click the endorsement link. You can also endorse more than one nation, or ask regional members to give you endorsements so you can be delegate. It's basically an election/voting system for representation in the United Nations. Since you're new here, perhaps you'd like to check out different regions. Consider joining my region, Adriatic Dalmatia. We have no strong political views, and welcome all newcomers. Here's the link: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi
Good luck and have fun:D

Thanks a lot, that makes sense now. Could a person use their other nations to endorse themselves, or is that "illegal"? Do you get any "special priveleges" being a delegate? What's a Dossier??? The more I know, the less I know. Haha :headbang:  :D

I think dossiers are just for our personal reference, sort of like an address book.

Firstly I suggest you read the stickies and announcements in every forum.

Don't worry a lot of people are addicted to this site, you're not in the minority there.

You cannot endorse yourself and you can't create other U.N nations to endorse yourself because you will be ejected from the U.N.

Delegates have more voting power when a U.N resolution is up for vote and they also have the 'privelege' of voting for which proposals come to vote for the whole U.N.

The Dossier is for keeping track on nations that you want to keep an eye on for various reasons.
