Real World Comparative XML Feed

I love the Nation Tracker and National Economy XML feed programs (for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, click the "The Damned People In Wikipedia" link in my signature, scroll down to "Economy", and click on the Economic Statistics links).

But I was just wondering, is it possible for anyone to create an XML feed program that compares any NationStates nation entered to the closest Real World nation according to stats? For instance, anarchist nations could be closely compared to unstable real world nations, while economically dominant ones could be compared to the US or China, while socially restrictive ones could be compared to Iran or North Korea...

I was just thinking that it could be pretty cool to have an XML feed that shows the closest possible match for a Real World nation based on political, economic, and social indicators. Obviously, population wouldn't be a good measure.

So does anyone know if it is possible to do this?

You'd need to get an XML feed of the real-life nations you're interested in, then write a program to compare them.

[which I have absolutely no idea how to do]

It shouldn't be too hard. Somebody could look up Real World national information using the CIA factbook or something and create a static XML feed based on that, then just enter that into the program with comparisons to NS nations.

But, of course, they'd have to have the time and effort to do so.

This sounds... hard.

Sounds like the kind of crazy thing I could do. *goes to National Statistics Office website*

I'll add them to this page as they're done:

It'll take some time though - Britain took ages, and our government's fairly open about its budget.
