Interesting gameplay change idea

ok heres the deal..I think that i have an idea that might make nationstates a little better. My idea is that we come up with an entire new war concept. I think we should first make a declaration of war. The defending party must except. Ok now that both parites have excepted the war they go to a moderator or someone of impotance like that. Ok now that the moderator knows about the war between the nation (this is where it gets interesting) they all (the warring nations and moderator) all agree on a certain multiplayer video game to battle in. Examples would be soemthing like Rome:total war or Halo. And then the winner of the battle terms absorbs the losers nation. The loser becomes a rogue nation with few populace who can gather allies to try to retake his country if he wants.

Good idea or bad?

Bad idea:

1) The moderators are human beings who are volunteering to moderate the game.
2) The powers you suggest only exist in the hands of the admins who are quite busy on a lot of other things - such as implementing the gameplay changes that are feasable
3) The results require the honesty of the competitors. If the competitors both claim victor, how are the moderators supposed to address the dispute? One could completely godmod the situation and always claim victory - so he never losses anything.
4) Wars are already RPed so it would not be difficult for people to go out of their way to already do this at the RP level, thus I see no reason to implement it at the gameplay level.

I truly doubt that this will be implemented in NS, as it would constitute a game mechanics change.

However, there's no reason you couldn't implement this on your own. Assuming you have a trustworthy delegate or other person, you could have the 2 or more nations involved in the battle turn their nations over to them for holding until after the battle. Then, at the conclusion, the winner would gain control of the other nations. A word of warning though, this could lead to a lot of problems if it went wrong, so it's probably not the *best* idea.

And if you actually meant absorbing as in taking on the other nation's population and stats, then that is *really* unlikely to happen.

I'm sure that the mods will appreciate you calling them impotent.:D
I had to say it.

Well an idea can always be tweaked. The wars im talking about are between nations andnot regions. We could elect or admins could choose game watchers to watch the wargame and prove that there is a winner. And of course they all know the rules for the match and all agree to it.
