I need a good program to make maps.What is one you commonly use to make a map for your region.

I need one to make a map not just look at some pre-made one.
I just use regular paint, but I'm actually fairly good at it. Also, are you a Mac or PC user?

In that case, there's apparently a program called AutoRealm out there that has been used by a lot of NSers for mapmaking, and it's free (4 MB download). Try googling it; I don't have a URL offhand...

Read the help button, play around, click all the buttons, learn from your mistakes, that's how I'm learning to use it.

that looks more like a landscape cration program, not a mapper. I reccoment AUTOrealm as well. Trial and error is the key.
