Which Budget Calculator?

I tired using the Third Geek one, but it said there was an error because too many nations were created or something. So which one should I use instead? Will they all have the same results or do they differ?

Right, you're in the South Pacific. Thirdgeek can't handle nations in large regions. However, NSTracker (http://nstracker.retrogade.com/index.php?nation=tocoria) has almost all the same stats, and some other snazzy functions too. An alternative would be Sunset's calculator (http://sunsetrpg.com/economystatistics.php).

The problem with all of these calculators is that they are not very realistic in the sense that areas of the government receive no funding at all based on the limited responses from NS issues. What’s needed is a calculator you can use that takes into account NS categories (such as economy, freedoms and population) and allows each player to adjust it appropriately so that every area of the government is funded. I think that a system that takes everything into account, and even allows deviation from the automatic NS discrepancies, such as the population increase no matter what, would allow for a real good game!

Well, ok, but these are based on the XML feed, so the government budget allocations are 'accurate'.

Well I realize they are accurate, no insult intended I assure! It’s just unrealistic. You can have a nation with a tax rate of 50% and no funding for administrative costs. That leaves a lot extra for stuff like a military that should not be there.

So make another calculator. One wonders at the point of an RPed calc...but it's up to you.

I'm actually doing that. The point would simply be to make basic rules to fallow, just like in a normal RP like D&D or something, that would insure there is no one saying they have ungodly amounts of military or the like.
