I saw on some regions' factbooks text with other color then black. How can I change the colors in my regions' factbook?

Simply use tags around the text, the same way as on the forums. All vB code works in world factbook entries except for URLs, IMG, code, smilies, and indents.

However, you can still put links to threads in Jolt. I'm not sure on how to do that, but I think it works...

It's meant to work like so: bob should show bob as a hyperlink, and link to the thread numbered 999999 (if you look up a thread, you see it has a unique six-digit number at the end). However, I don't know if they ever got it working. I'll go see. (It does, though, work in the forums.)

It works. I've seen it on the NSCL's home region, where they linked to their manifesto.

Yes, it does work: just tested it. Also, you can simply do [thread=999999] to link to thread 999999.

But what if I want to link to a post?

But what if I want to link to a post?

I don't know if you can do that, I'm afraid.

According to Salusa, you can't. And I'm inclined to believe him. Not sure why.

From the Tech FAQ sticky:

What formatting tags can we use in World Factbook Entries?
The code for this is hand-rolled. The tags that we support are:

- bold -
- underline -
- italic -
- color -
[hr] - Horizontal Rule
[thread ] - Links to a thread in the forums
Remove the trailing space before the ] before use.

For the last two, check out the news page (http://www.nationstates.net/news/2005/02/02/index.html#sal_changes) for the syntax.

1. The description on a region page. In your case, it's here: http://www.nationstates.net/region=the_south_pacific.

2. You can get one by founding your own region, or by becoming delegate of a region which allows you to edit.

3. It's up to the people who write it. It usually describes the region, may list regional forums, websites, and officials, whatever, really.
