Is this thing rigged?

I don't know if this belongs here or in Technical, but it seems like a gameplay issue to me. If not, a Mod can move it.

The Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan is a huge, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 807 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Social Equality are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 69%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Automobile Manufacturing.

Citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, factories are regularly demolished to make way for low-cost housing areas, and all-natural foods are becoming a major fad. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kahanistan's national animal is the verminous rat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Racist Shekel.

Kahanistan is ranked 1st in the region and 105,650th in the world for Healthiest Nations.

See if you note the contradictions. Also, Thirdgeek (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php?nation=Kahanistan) says I have $0.00 in Social welfare... but the NS page refers to "progressive social policies in... welfare," and bulldozing factories to make way for cheap housing. Shouldn't the Social Welfare be going up?

BTW, is it normal to have the exact same number for exports and imports?

1. You do have 0% Welfare spending: check your XML feed (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi/nation=Kahanistan).
2. The imports/exports in Thirdgeek are based on regional figures. Given you're the only one in your region, the figures will be the same.
3. There are often contradictions in nation descriptions. We assume that's because they reflect short term changes, but it takes longer for stats to change in accordance.

Contradictions are quite common. It could well be yor welfare has increased, but only a little, and not yet enough to register a change in percentage of budgetary allocation.

You should also note that calculators like the one at Thirdgeek are UNOFFICIAL RP(Roleplay) toys. They don't necessarily reflect the way the nationstates game engine interpret things.

But in this case, the Thirdgeek calculator is accurate. He really does, officially, have 0% welfare spending.
