A Question of Smoke

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I'm going to try to ask anyway.

I've heard of a type of smoke (Thermal Smoke, I beleive it's called) that uses hot air particles to blind thermographic sources of vision. Would this be a real concept, or simply science fiction?

I believe this would be better in General, as it's an abstract. I'm afraid I can't help, though, although your proposition sounds unlikely.

If you want an NS-related response, you could always post an IC development of technology based on it, and wait for responses.

I'll move the topic over there, then. I wouldn't want to post it as an IC Development until I know I won't get jumped on for something widely inconceivable.
