I want money!

There's just one thing that's really getting me: why don't I get issues in which I can develop industries such as book-publishing, automobile manufacturing, information transport, cheese exports, whatever! I only have one industry which is Uranium Mining and my tax rate is 79% (my economy used to be "very good", but now it's only "developing").

My nation isn't really business friendly but dammit if anyone would start a business and be the only one, then that person would make quite a lot of money. Also, I remember I once got "the government has enabled small-scale capitalism" so I'm not that bad.

Many times I had the chance to invest more money into healthcare, social welfare and things like that but I couldn't since I didn't want my tax rate to be even higher... now, if I pushed my tax rate to 100%, would issues like the ones I mentioned earlier come up? I probably could do this, but I don't want to unless it will have that effect.
Any ideas/siggestions?

-remember U.N economic category just shows there freedoms you could have a massive all consuming economy and not know it ;) which is why all the communist based nations have poor economy’s

-if you want to have those issues make them (but I think its kind of good that they develop at an unexpected rate it adds more realism)

-if your looking to make a quick buck I could help you there ;)

-also allot of the economy is up to you (if you go on II) so just make it up you could have factory’s that produce love

- Actually, the UN category shows your economy, not your economic freedom. Therefore you could have no economic freedom, but a good economy.

- Most issues don't get accepted.

- There are many issues that are pro-economy but not necessarily pro-business, for example legalizing gambling.

- It's generally considered bad form to RP a better economy than you actually have.

Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, just recently I got offered Gambling but after long consideration I declined (and I don't regret it).

About that "quick buck" thing, how will you help me with that, Call to Power?
Oh, and I'm not really into the whole RP-ing business. A while ago I tried to get into it but it just seemed too boring and confusing.

HERETIC!

Ok, just kidding. But to improve your economy, make any decisions that are pro-business and ignore everything else. For example, insisting upon gender equality policies in the workplace will improve your economy, as will not allowing white-collar unions.

Um, no... currently I have "a small private sector dominated by the Uranium Mining industry", but I also want more industries like book publishing, automobile manufacturing, information transport etc. things like that would improve my economy without changing the civil and political rights of my people.

Oh, and I thought I put this in the Technical forum... anyway, doesn't matter.

There has to be some issues that come up when you hit 100% tax rate... does anyone know what these issues are? Because I might try to get to 100% just for the issues (that, hopefully, give me new industries).

i have 100% tax rate and am not sure what what issues you are talking about but i have been on 100% for a long long time so i am probably used to them.

Just issues that ask you if you want the government to fund some industry. Like, the first time you hit 100%, didn't you receive an issue concerning the 100% tax rate?
