I apologize if this isn't the correct forum for this post, but its gameplay, anyways:
I have seen a few countries with a frightening economy, however they arent totally corrupt and run by corporations. How the hell do you do this? Do you first need to hit an economic slump and get rid of private entireprise, then get a list of communist like issues or something? Any help would be cool.

To get that you just have to get a tax rate above 60% (preferrably 100%) and then raise your economy using issues that improve the economy without lowering taxes.

that might not be true Czardian : (ok this is just for discussion) My own economy has been at this "Frightening" category for an entire year and my taxes has always hovered between 10 to 20%.

Thus I imagine your nation is totally corrupt and/or run by corporations.

Black magic now? ;)

Anyway, to the original poster: The Czardaian Envoy is wrong. To have a nation with a strong economy that is not corrupt or run by corporations (i.e. the opposite of mine :p) it's not a high tax rate you need -- I've seen corporate police states with 100% tax -- it's high civil rights and political freedoms. That will take care of the corruption. For the rest you need just lower economic freedom -- i.e. answer issues that control what corporations can do and give less freedom to businesses, but subsidize them at the same time, which will cause the nation's economy to remain powerful while not giving corporations absolute freedom.

It's a very fine line....
