How in the hell did I receive more than 5 telegrams in like 20 minutes. Are there freaking bots or what? This is crazy. Anyway to stop them?

Greetings, newblet. The reason you got so many TGs is because you're new, and so all the region spam whores want to sign you up to their region.
Also, this kind of question belongs in the Gameplay forum.
And no, bots are illegal here, at least the kind that would do this are.
