That's right my friends, the United Republic of Atreides is back. After almost a year out, we have risen from the dust and formed anew. Right now, we have a very democratic government in which all can participate. But soon, we'll need your help to create a full flegged republic.

Now, I know some of you are weary to try and leave your current region. But that the URA can offer you is immense. What were looking for is some active NationStates members who love regional participation. I personally love history, politics, and religion discussions, and just plain like debating intelligent people. the URA is to be a haven of intelligence and knoledge, as well as glory and power. Think of it, one day, you could go from a lowly citizen, to maybe even the President of the URA! And there inlies another foundation of the Republic: Napolionicism. The idea of following the Napoleonic virtues of knowledge, liberty, and equality. You will not be ridiculed or opressed. This is a region of freedom, thought, and participation. So I encourage you to join, and help lead this region on to glory, as one day we may go off on great campaigns!

Currenlty, there are five government positions waiting to be filled:

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly - The Head of the democratic Legislative Assembly (compsoed of all citizens) and the UN Delegate. Mainly keeps order in the Assembly, and serves as a kind of "people's representitive".

Minister of Foriegn Affairs - The minister in charge of inter-regional affairs. He/she will be in charge of the appointing of ambassadors, the recruitment of nations, and possible hadle the regions' security intelligence.

Minister of Defense - The minister in charge of regional defense. He/she will be in charge of organizing and raising the Armed Forces, and of controlling internal security forces.

Minister of the Interior - The "everything else" minister. In charge of the forum, record keeping, elections, etc. Could become a very powerful position.

Justice of the National Court - In charge of Justice, and serves as the offical judge of the region. Handles cases, both civil and criminal, and obviously, presides over all as a judge.

All are ready to be filled, at the moment, but you better claim them now, or they'll go quick!

Eventually, I plan to institute a US-style government. Simply, it will have the following:

President: Head of State, Head of government, Commander in Chief. Elected for one month. Practically all the power of the U.S. President. UN Delegate.

Vice President: Successor to the President in emergencies. President of the Senate.

Cabinet: Same Ministers as Above.

Senate: 5 person assembly. Holds all legislative power. Increased by one for every 10 or 20 members.

Supreme Court: 3 person membership. Handles all cases and controversies. Ensures all laws are constitutional.

So as you can see, it will be a pretty simple, yet open system.
