Okay, I can't seem to find a lot of stuff regarding certain issues with the game.
When, in GMT, are:
Issues sent out and processed?
When are updates made to the game, such as ranking and population growth?
Are industires arbitrarily given to nations? I've noticed mine has changed a few times.
Can I alter my industry with certain desicions?
How do I affect Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedom?
How exactly do UN resolutions affect my nation?
Are they purely informational, or do they have mechanical effects?
How can I change my "UN category"? I know it's decided by the UN, but does it not change?

Answers for these questions would be greatly appreciated :)

Issues sent out and processed?it all depends on how many you get per day
When are updates made to the game, such as ranking and population growth?I believe early in the morning
Are industires arbitrarily given to nations? I've noticed mine has changed a few times.
Can I alter my industry with certain desicions?
How do I affect Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedom? how you handle issues
How exactly do UN resolutions affect my nation? they don't necessarilly, it is RP
Are they purely informational, or do they have mechanical effects?it depends
How can I change my "UN category"? I know it's decided by the UN, but does it not change?by the issues

the issues affect many things.

Answers not garrunteed, if anyone know better please say :)

When, in GMT, are:
Issues sent out and processed?
In sync with the updates

When are updates made to the game, such as ranking and population growth?
About 9am and 9pm ish, it varies.

Are industires arbitrarily given to nations? I've noticed mine has changed a few times.
If you pick Issue answers that subsidise or penalise specific industries it does seem to have an effect on them.

Can I alter my industry with certain desicions?
see above answer

How do I affect Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedom?
By the way you answer issues

How exactly do UN resolutions affect my nation?
They affect the Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedom ratings.

Are they purely informational, or do they have mechanical effects?
If you mean do they change how the game is played the answer is they affect the issues you get (a democratic nation never gets issues about restoring democracy for example) but nothing else.

How can I change my "UN category"? I know it's decided by the UN, but does it not change?
By how you answer Issues, if you take away rights then that rating changes and your government type will change, same with the other two ratings. UN member nations have their ratings affected by the resolutions that are passed.

Thanks for the replies, guys, but I just need a little clarification: Nevareion and Sumgy, your answer regarding the UN Resolutions are confusing me; are they purely RP or do they affect Issues, Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedom?

Nevareion, do you mean 9 and 9, our time? GMT?

I do mean GMT. For example I just got a new issue between leaving home at 8:30ish and getting to work at 9am.

How your ratings affect your country is like this: they change your country description and government type. They also can be used to develop a role playing description of it where you use the ratings and factbook as the basis of something more detailled to role play with either on these forums or on the regional forums many people also use.

Does that help?

Sumgy is wrong. UN resolutions have mechanical effects on your country. The precise nature of these will only be known to admin with access to the code. But, for example, a 'Disarmament' resolution might well reduce your defence spending. Or another resolution might raise your taxes to fund a new UN body. I don't know any more exactly than that, but UN resolutions will mechanically affect your country.

Oh, and *bump* is a way of recycling an old thread with no new material to the top. The forums by default display threads in descending order of most recent post. Obviously, the further down (or back, if it slips off page 1) the thread, the less likely people are to read it. It you *bump* your thread up to the top again, you get a second chance for people to read it.

ok - it is clear that decisions about issues change the nation, but I am pretty sure that I did not chose any answer that could lead to >>children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life<<, but that is stated in my description. I would really appreciate it if such changes were explained to the user ...

Coronariariaria, even though your decisions seem fair and rational, what NS does is that it takes your decisions and coats them with lots and lots of red tape, allowing for exteremists and whatnots, and you end up with a totally off-kilter decision i.e. an extreme variation of your original decision.

Lazyfair, I follow you insofar as decisions may (and in fact should) have unintended consequences but

[just right now i remember the decision which may have lead to this change: the issue was about two foreign immigrant groups which were attacking each other in Coronariariaria and i decided to rise educational budget to teach about ethnical tensions in school]

I'd welcome some role playing information about the consequences like "You're decision to ... lead to the formation of the spirtual group 'Peace Now!' which gained more and more influence by using unorthodox methods in the newly founded courses 'Foreigners are just like us' and ..."

Yes, I just discovered this the hard and ridiculous way, as a "higher tax rate for the rich" turned out to be an increase up to 100%

I have a question too how long is an NS month and y  ear in real life

There's no set rule on this. Generally, people use either one RL day, or one RL month, as one NS year, but it's really up to you and whoever you're RPing with.
