Endorsement Scam?

I've just been sitting around in the East Pacific, because I'd rather watch regional politics from a distance, but the other day I got a telegram from a nation I didn't know, saying that they'd endorsed me, and I asking me to endorse them in return. Looking at their nation's page, they've got ~80 other endorsements already. The delegate has 400+, so I said, sure, what the hay, it probably won't hurt anything. Now, a few days later, his endorsement is gone, and I've got another telegram from a different nation proposing exactly the same thing, and another endorsement. I delete all my telegrams, and there's no way I'm going to pick through 7000+ nations to find out which one I endorsed before, so barring leaving and coming back, my endorsement remains. Is this a new scam to get endorsements from unwitting nations in the pacifics? I hadn't heard of that one before.

It's called endorsement swapping. Nations will telegram you saying they endorsed you, and will keep their endorsement if you endorse them. From my knowledge, it's frowned upon in the EP.

A suggestion here is to endorse another UN member as this may remove your endorsement from the offending party. Not sure if one can endorse more than one person as a deligate...... Would need MOD... input on this. But if can only do one then find another and endorse them..

Standard disclaimer: not a mod.

Garnilorn, if you're a UN nation you can endorse any other UN nation -- and as many other UN nations -- as you choose in your region.

Technically, anyway.

Some founders may not allow region members to endorse anyone other than the delegate. I don't know, I've never been in a very structured region. One I was in used to have elections on the off-site forum, then the founder would declare the winner and ask everyone to endorse him/her. But this didn't stop people from endorsing other nations they had special ties with, as well.

Some people are picky, but others automatically endorse any UN nation that pokes its head through the doors, and others won't endorse anyone, even the delegate, unless the region's under attack. It's up to you.

Nations can give more than one endorsement Garnilorn so I am afraid your proposal wouldn't work. As far as I know the only way if you cannot locate the endorsement you wish to remove is to leave the region for the duration of one update.

The only problem with stepping out of the region is endorsement of ALL are thus lost then you would have to go back in and endorse them ALL over again... Not in UN but doing some reading for a friend who is trying to learn game and wants to get in.. Right now we just surfing forum to learn... Thanks for help..
