Okay, I have searched the forums, and I can't seem to find the answers to these questions:

1. How does the ranking system work??
2. Is this game entirely just choosing options to issues?
3. I have received issues created by players. How did they create these issues?

I know I am such a newbie. I just can't seem to figure these out!!

If by ranking you mean the UN rankings, those change everyday, but are based on your nation's stats, but I'm not sure exactly which way each ranking is determined.

You can keep just answering issues and discussing them in the issues forum, you can roleplay on the forums, you can get involved in regional politics, join the UN to discuss resolutions and proposals in the UN forum, you can invade or defend regions with your UN nation, you can set up a region of your own...plenty of options.

You can create issues when your nation reaches 500 million in population

People, especially Crazy Girl, seem to have answered your questions, so I'll do the "At the risk of sounding like an idiot ..." bit.

1. All of us had to start somewhere, too, and some of us (ie, me) are still finding out stuff.

2. It's not idiotic, it's smart to ask questions, instead of blundering around and getting folk mad at you.

3. If you're really embarrassed about asking on the forums, then ask on your regional board. Yours is a big enough region to have somebody who has a bit of a clue.

4. If you're really, really shy, click on the name of somebody who's answered you and send them a telegram. An easy way to do this is by clicking on their name next to their answer, clicking on "Visit (X's) homepage", scrolling down to the bottom and then writing in the box under "Send a telegram to ...".

I don't think you sound like an idiot. Thanks for asking those questions. I'm new too and honestly I haven't even learned enough to ask those questions. :)

Oh, yeah, I forgot: another thing you can do is make puppets -- that is, other nations. There's no real limit except that you can have only ONE UN-member nation (more is called multi-ing, and will get you DEATed -- ie, thrown out).

Puppets can be fun because you can make them complete opposites, or let your main nation set up colonies, or have present-day, future, past, or magical versions of the one nation, or the same nation developed in two different ways after somebody took a crucial decision, lost a vital war or came up with a significant invention or philosophy ... YAY PUPPETS!
