Hi all,

On the thirdgeek economy calculator, after cutting military spending on one of the issues, I now have a $0.00 rating for military expenditure. The figure should be lower, but nothing? No country would slash their budget to nothing. It means I can't join in storefronts or anything. Can I ignore this and use other calculatorts when buying stuff?

Sticking 100% true to ThirdGeek's results would not be advisable. If a country actually had budgets like those proposed on ThirdGeek, then it would collapse within a week.

In short, most people don't mind if you do whatever you want, so long as you stick to the population NS gives you. Hell, some people even RP with lower populations than they actually have. It's freeform RP. But if storefront owners won't accept your purchases because of ThirdGeek, you could either ignore them and find somebody sane to trade with, or select military issues.

You name looks alot like mine. How'd you choose it?

I find ThirdGeek to be a very useful *guide* to what your economy can bear, but it's not entirely realistic at all times. There's no way I'd spend only one percent of my budget on defence, but I also wouldn't spend about 36 percent of my budget there either.

Would around 5% of the budget be acceptable for the military? (just so I have a rough idea) My nation has compulsory service BTW.

Thanks for clearing that up for me everyone, I was starting to get worried.

Oh, and I chose Lankuria because I wanted an east asian themed nation, took Manchuria, and altered it to Lankuria :)
