And no i don't mean list qualities about your favorite region! By definition no region can be Perfect. I just want to hear what people would consider traits of a Perfect Region in NS.

Right now I've got a pretty good region going, basically all people you know and get along with. With good cooperation to make the region stronger as a whole.

A good region should be democratic with strong laws, foreign affairs, and defence. It should be fun so that people will stay in the game and should offer something that no other region provides. Also they should have an active offsite forum and should be fairly large.

Your second sentence, I imagine, would differ subjectively with each player. For example, I would agree wholeheartedly with Imperial Atheists. As such, in the ideal region, I would think strong laws would be unnecesary, everyone would get along. Also, I believe there would be no need for formal democracy: things would just happen in a cooperative manner. In this way, it likely would much less feasible with too large a region (a very active region would probably makeup for this anyway). Ideally, it would have a naturally constant flow of nations and be free of regional happenings spam/doodles.

And to offer something that no other region provides seems a bit unrealistic and elitist to me.

Generally, the region would accommodate for all preferences (back to the elements of democracy and 'stong laws', some may prefer lax regulation in that field), have an original, and interesting name and theme.

Now the founder often defines a region as well. No founder would be somewhat suitable, but then that can put you in a bad position. So perhaps only a generic-named, shared founder, with no extroadinary burden of responsibility, or recognition. (again accomodation)

Nearly all other nations would be quite active, in most aspects of the region; accordingly there would be very few puppets (save the founder, and maybe a couple others if necessary).

Of course, if one were power-hungry/region zealous. One would probably want an infinitely large, omnipotent region, that absolutely dominates the region-crashing game, the roleplaying aspects, the UN, the UN rankings, regional politcs, etc. But then (Damn those (pan-)nationalists! :p )

A region with a strong community and a unifying theme.

My region is pretty good, tho I'm not sure you would call it perfect. It's a Republic, with our Imperial Senate being elected montly by the citizens of the Republic. It's probable the best purely FT(future tech) region I've seen on NS.

The region I'm in is quite good, there is no hierarchy as such. Anyone can moot an idea, if it is liked by others it will be taken up if it is not then it won't be. We also all (at this point) know each other from outside of the game and do share some common interests that we have tried to include in our regions outlook. So fat it's going great but we've only been at it a week or so and there are only 8 of us thus far.
