You should read all the stickies first off. Your economy gets up through answering issues in a way that your economy benefits.

The previous poster is correct, here is an example to clarrify...
Ex Issue:
Some company wants to clear-cut the forest to make money from the timber.
Option 1- Support the company and let them clear-cut... Result is a worse enviorment but better economy
Option 2- Save the trees... Result... Better enviorment, worse economy, maybe less civil rights
Option 3- Usually some random thing, or moderate approach...

can't you influence your economy any other way? or do you have to wit till NS 2 for that?

The only real way to influence your economy is through the issues you are given, and if you are in the UN, the proposals that are passed.
What does Particracy have to do with his question?
