Stupid game!
I dunno if anyone noticed but this game really needs to consider all the effects of a legislation. For example I just got the issue regarding cults and whether I should support their human sacrifices....If I had said no, my civil rights would have dropped but If I agreed to sacrifice humans the civil rights will rise...how does that work? Obviously you're not protecting the civil rights of the people being sacrificed. Heck the cult probably isn't even a majority, My nation's civil rights rating should have went down because of my decision..

if you read the FAQ you'll notice all decisions have a larger effect than you probably intend, it's part of the game

Not necessarily, though, I'm not even sure if that's how the issue works. Only the mods truly know the full effects of the stats; however, in my opinion, by denying your citizens the opportunity of sacrificing other humans, you are taking away rights from them. It really has nothing to do with 'protecting' your citizens lives. By giving them the right to do so, you are giving them another right, to sacrifice humans. Odd, I know.

One thing aboutthis game. Every issue will be taken to its extreme extreme. What seems benevolent will become perverted and twisted quickly.
I always find if you dont think you will like the affect an issue will have, a big fat DISMISS will suffice
That aspect of the game reveals that too much human rights is NOT a good thing, so don't be afraid to shape your nation to have limited human rights. China's one-child policy denies human rights but is a good thing (the alternative, overpopulation, is much worse), for example.
Well, I'm just saying I think some of the issues are poorly written.
An issue that I thought was quite well written was the one about maternity leave...although mothers got no maternity pay, the economy still went up due to the increased need for nannies.

The issues are just a bit of fun
Who needs civil rights anyway?

The issues aren't actually supposed to be logical, and understanding....the whole point of them is to be filled with satire about the government and economy. That is the basis of Jennifer Government.
I think the choice is albeit a bit out-of-the-world. However, I feel that since this is a make-believe world; things tend to get a bit more extreme. Well, even in the world governments, well-meaning policies can have unforseeable consquences...
I'm still mad at the mods for making no distinction between a "Superb" and an "Excessive" ranking for civil rights. "Superb" means high civil rights; "Excessive" means too many. There's a difference!

Who needs civil rights anyway?
That's what I said when I created my country. I find it easier to play the part of the evil, overbearing, I must own everything, dictatorship type bast^%$ than to play the nicey nice liberal. :) Besides, you can always kill off a few citiczens if you need to, just to make a point. ;)

I was quite disappointed that legalising euthanasia caused my civil rights score to go from "outlawed" to "few". The whole point of making it legal, in my opinion, was so doctors could kill patients at random under the excuse of "they wished to die".
Oh well.

Under FAQ it does describe the fact that everything in the game is exaggerated, and this is one result.

Thats an interesting, and for me original take on legalising euthanasia :p
