I've only had an nation for a few weeks, but in that limited time I've noticed the UN tends to slant the reports towards the left. A few days ago there was a report about the smartest citizens. Ranked at the top, a socialist country. Near the bottom, the capitalists and anarchist nations. Today's report was about the rudest citizens. At the top, a consumerist state, followed by coporate police and capitalist states. Near the bottom, the left wing and socialist states. But then again, i guess it's hard to be stupid and rude when the governement takes all your money to school and rule you.

something tells me that this belongs in general or gameplay, can't decide which. oh well

The "smartest citizens" report depends on how much your nation spends on education. Low tax nations obviously spend less.

I don't know what the "rudest citizens" depends on. Free speech maybe?

Free speech yeah. Or moral issues.

There is a point to be made about would oppressive left wing governments really have smarter citizens when they are poor, oppressed and in fear of their lives over a capitalist paradise where they have high civl rights, political freedoms and a booming economy that even with a low tax rate, spends far more on education than the oppressive government with a economy doing badly.

According to thirdgeek, and i know this isn't part of the game but it is a decent indicator, the nation with the smartest citizens in my region is a corrupt dictatorship with a population of 439 million and a education budget of $2,832,011,091.99

My country has a populations of 390 million and a education budget of $399,365,929,410.73.

They spend $6.45 a citizen on education, i spend $1,024 a citizen.

I know it means nothing as thirdgeek has nothing to do with NS but i feel it is interesting to see that.

Actually, that's easily explained. Just look at the real world, the Pisa study for example. How well did the USA (capitalist paradise) scored in comparsion with left-wing utopias (nordic countries)? There were about 30 countries and I remember the USA scoring 19th to 20something.

And what's so opressive about Left-wing Utopias, Scandinavian Liberal paradises, Democratic Socialists, etc?

Oh i agree with you, i'm not stating that left wing governments like liberal paradises and democratic socialists are oppressive, i'm just referring to dictatorial left wing governments like Corrupt Dictatorships and others.
