One of the issues that game up for my country was about gambling. But because I didnt like the idea of 3 year olds doing it, the whole thing is outlawed.

:headbang:

This game has alot more, and even more radical extreams.

And because of the forced extreams, polar oposite choices, I dont feel like I even controll my nation and its turning into something I didnt exactly intend.

Most issues have a "middle ground," usually the last option. Some fail in that aspect, like the polygomy one and maybe the gambling one as well. If that is the case, do what I do, and dismiss the issue. You nation will not change towards either extreme.

Exactly. Nationstates forces you to listen to (some) reasonably rational debate on a subject, then depending on which you implement, taking it to "extreams" far beyond the intent you originally had in mind for the bill. Sort of like say, representative government. Enjoy.

In the future, write something more intelligent for your thread subject.

Dude, it's only a game! You can always dismiss the issue. I never do that, i'm always curious to see how things turn out. So students sell their kidneys to make ends meet and

"Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, all recreational drugs are legal, and euthanasia is legal"

Who cares? This is not like real world, in the real world you have more then three options to choose from.

It's supposed to be like that:

Why is my nation so weird?

Everything is exaggerated a little. Well, okay, a lot. Your decisions affect your nation very strongly, so your country might seem like a more extreme version of what you were aiming for. Unless you have radical politics. In which case you probably think nothing's wrong.

My decision had unintended consequences!

Yep, that'll happen. For one thing, see "Why is my nation so weird?" above. For another, pretty much every decision you make will involve a trade-off of some kind. It's kind of an exercise in choosing the best of a bunch of bad options. You might find this frustrating, especially if you're the kind of person who thinks the solutions to all the world's problems are obvious.

However, in NationStates, that doesn't happen. Therefore on NS you can outlaw capitalism and have corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, or as my favorite one was,

"Elections have been outlawed and voting is compulsory."

:p I saw some nation that had that, made me chuckle
