since this is the gameplay forum....and no roleplay should be here..
if you want an army, invite other people to join, with a bunch of UN nations (one per player/computer) and you can invade or defend regions. if you want to join one, click the link in my sig ;)

A roleplay army: take 2% of your population, draft or recruit it, and follow guidelines. There are links to those guidelines in this thread (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=357975), which is basically a compilation of all the threads and stickies in NS you need to survive on the forums.
