Do I want to start a new region?

Bunnydonia's in the South Pacific, which is sprawling and fairly anonymous. So far so good, I suppose. But I'm considering whether I want to have a bit more influence. Any input for me on the pros and cons of creating a region? I don't want to experiment and end up losing all my endorsements for nothing.
I'd like my region to specialize in nations that value civil rights and political freedoms and keep their ratings at at least "average." Is that possible? If any nasty dictatorships or corporate police states decide to move in, am I stuck with them?

if you create a region, you will be founder, with all the powers that conme with that:

passwording your region
kicking out and banning and unbanning nations
making a factbook
barring or allowing delegate access to regional control (my advice: keep it barred)

tricky thing is, you'll need to recruit, keep it active, find things to keep the people in your region active and amused...quite a lot of work, but worth it if it works.

Alternately you could searh for a region such as you describe and move to it, if you would not prefer life in a feeder region.

Crazy Girl is right, it can be a lot of work to build a successful region, maybe taking some months but it is very rewarding if it wotks. Successful regions will usually have an offsite forum as well and possibly a website, maps and other player made extras. Joining another region can also be fun if you do not feel like that kind of work. A good place to look for region is the regional directory updated by Ballontopia and found here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8869230#post8869230

Thanks. Things to think about.
I do want to be queen boss of all and decide who joins and who goes. And I already have a forum set up (http://www.freeforum101.com/forum/index.php?mforum=happybunny), which I've been trying to lure people to and where I suppose I could set up role-playing forums and map rooms and flag shops and whatnot.
Thinking about it.

Okay, well, I went ahead and founded it. We'll see how it goes.
