The Solar System, situated on the edge of a galaxy known as the Milky Way, contains 9 planets along with dozens of satellites, countless asteroids and the occasional comet. Situated in the center of the system is a star named Sol, which without it life on Earth (the third farthest planet from Sol) could not exist.
