If you could, would you...?

Ok, so ive only been on NS for a few months, but im seeing a lot of nations that have names that just dont sound right. I mean, no offense to anyone, but what kind of nation would have a name like "Tree Hugging Lesbians" or "Omz222"? Anyway, my question is, would you change the name of your country to something more serious if you could?

OOC: Nope, that's what is cool about NationStates: having your country named whatever the hell you want, regardless of how serious or ridiculous it is. I like my nation's name, even though it sounds crazy by real life terms.

(*^%(&^, this is a duplicate. I didnt mean to make it, so could a mod shut this one down and every1 use the one of the same name, but with the poll?

Go to 'thread tools' and insert a poll.

That wouldnt fix the whole "duplicate" problem, but I guess its better than nothing

I gave my nations (remotely) plausible names, so it isn't a problem for me. However, I don't think that many established RPers would change their names if they could. It's not like changing your nation's title; it's a radical change. People might not recognise who you are at a glance, and explaining how your nation changed its name completely without changing its government or leaders nor having a reason to do so would be an interesting thing to achieve.

Yes. To "Umbrella Corpation."

Nope. My nation name makes me unique.

Yes. To "Umbrella Corpation."
As opposed to "Umbrella Corporation Incorporated"? Yeah, I can understand why, heh.

Yeah, well "Umbrella Corporation" was sadly taken when I showed up, so I was forced into this name. -_-;

Yes, To Lessr Tsurani, and I would make my pop much larger, back to what it was before my thingy in General.

Um, no. Although I have condidered asking to have some of my now inactive, equally silly nations reactivated.

I wouldn't; I like my nations' names. They each convey a subtle (or not-so-subtle, in the case of Steel and Fire) clue to the nation's identity.

For example, "Vrikstok" sounds very Siberian, and rather evil. It's both.

No. Whats wrong with "Tocrowkia"?

If I changed it i'd lose a good name.
I do have of a couple names that i'd like for a nation though.

Do gameadmins have the power to change nation names? And would they do so if asked nicely?

I'm happy with (all 6 of) my nation's names. 4 of them are named after localities around me, and two of them are functional. So I voted 'No', but I would like to be able to change my names. I don't know what devious gameplay implications that would have though.

I'm fairly certain that names cannot, or at least will not, be changed.
Maybe if you donate a huge array of computers to be the new server...

If you don't have anything to say, why not try "not saying it". Answers like this just spam up threads.
