So I'm relatively new to NS and I've looked all over the place to find an explantion but have been unsuccessful. So I have come to you, my fellow Nations, with my questions.

What are storefronts?
And how does one "pay" for weapons, etc.?

Thank you in advance for any help :)

Storefronts are threads - or, in some cases, entire off-site forums - dedicated to each nation's line of products. Nations tend to develop new technologies and incorporate them into their equipment, military or otherwise, and they set up "corporations" that specialize in one area of production (the Aerospace industry, for example). These corporations, which are usually a source of prestige for the nationstates, display their products and equipment (including specifications, pictures, and upgrades) in one dedicated thread, which is referred to as a storefront.

If you want to buy a product from a storefront, let's say it is a navy destroyer worth one billion U.S. dollars, you post an order (via TG - or in that storefront) for the destroyer. Many good storefront owners require that you do a bit of roleplay when you post your order (e.g. My navy would like to purchase one of your fine vessels, etc). You calculate the sum of your order (1 billion $ in the case above, for example) and you wait for confirmation from the storefront owner. Then you "wire the funds" to that nation. Some people wire an actual telegram to the storefront owners. Other just post "Money wired" and move on.

Hope that helps. :)

Technically, this is a Roleplay question, and as such it belongs in one of the two roleplay forums, NationStates or International Incidents. However, it's a question that many people confuse for something in the Game proper (like issues or the regional invasion game), and thus I choose to leave it in Gameplay.

A side note - there is a recent trend to create roleplay events in this forum. A reminder:

Roleplay is not the same as Gameplay!

If you want a good concise definition of what goes where, check out NSwiki's definitions of roleplay (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Roleplay) versus gameplay (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Gameplay).
