What makes my Nation increase in citizens?

Well my Nation has reached 90 million but it seems to grow ever so slowly. Is there a way to make it grow faster then a few million a day? I have outstanding issues set at 2 per day.

Thank you for any advice given and have a nice day.

Your nation's population grows at a set rate. There is no way to make it grow faster.

EDIT:
Well actually, at some time the rate speeds up, but I'm not quite sure when that is.

Your nation will grow about 5 mil per day until you reach 1 bn. At which the growth rate will double.

Oh, and happy 3bn day for me!

You know, when two of your people love each other really much... :P

I suppose you could clone your citizens, but on the other hand that is rather costly.

I'm actually not sure how the population growth rate is determined. I do know that the daily growth rate has random fluctuations in it and seems to increase with population. I don't know if it's an exponential progression, though.

This question seems to belong in "Gameplay". Hence, iMove http://assets.jolt.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif "Gameplay".

I just checked. I was wrong. Population growth is roughly linear with random fluctuations; it is not exponential at all.

Here's what Unfree People said about population growth a while back...

You start out at 5 million, grow by 1 million until 10 mill, grow by 2 until 20, by 3 until 32, 4 until 40, and 5 until 50... then you get random growth between 5 and 7 million a day.

...and doesn't actually effect your population in the slightest.

As has been said, there's really nothing you can do. Your population will increase at a fairly steady rate as long as your nation exists.

It's going to grow at a small rate... but your issues, do affect it.

For instance legalizing abortions, and having high civil rates, from what i can tell, gives you a lower population...compared to say a more theocratic nation.

but i've only looked at a bit...but that's what i've seen so far.

Issues do absolutely nothing to your population. The population growth is random, and no matter how you answer your issues, they will not increase or decrease your pop. growth.

When i made this post i could not reach the forums by the link so i followed another link. I did not know there was other forums available. Then i could not find my post so i figured someone moved it. Tried doing a search but nothing came up so i decided to come here to try again.

Ok so i have a very long time to go until a billion lol.

One more question. Is there any reason to join the UN at this stage of my Nations growth?

I think you should join the UN everytime you are allowed to, for example to endorse other nations, shouldn't you?

Joining the UN allows you to endorse other nations, to vote on UN resolutions, and, if you so choose, to seek endorsements yourself. It's useful for regional politics, but you can certainly enjoy the game without membership. I have a nation in the UN, but it's one of my less active ones.

I don't think your population affects the potential benefits of UN membership at all; it's just a matter of your personal preferences.
