I'm not quite sure which forum this belongs in but where or how can I get a position in the Army/Military on this game?

Army? Military? I'm sorry, but the NS Universe has no version of the SHIRBRIG, no international army. If you want an army, your own nation must field it.
And it would probably belong in the Technical Forum.

I think in general the size of your armed forces is roughly 2% of your population.

See, I don't even HAVE an army to speak of. If I wanted one, I could produce it out of nowhere because all of my Minutemen (Thus the National Motto of "The Minutemen are Waiting"). Defense hasn't become an issue for me yet. So all "armies" are on this game, or at least so I can gather, are virtual entities that are completely RPed.

By Salvarant's region, and RMB I would say that this is what the question centrally pertains to, rather than RP.
To join the army of your region, Salvarant, just register on your regional forums (http://s3.invisionfree.com/Blue_Moon/index.php?act=idx) and introduce yourself somewhere, saying that you would like to join the military.
