I've noticed that when some nations post they at times specify in which Number of Earth they are, or in which planet.

So I was wondering, if there's a rule that sets who goes where, and if so, in which earth I'd be located.

Someone please enlighten me.

As long as you abide by site rules and the rules set by the owner of the particular earth in question, you should be able to put your earth on which ever one you want.
You'll find an easier time of getting a spot on earth iv, v, vi, and rb than you would on earth III or earth II as those two are already filled up.

There were multiple threads created, in which many nations applied to be included in the certain 'Earth' that the thread pertained to (each earth generally had its own thread).

No rule.

The infinite earth versions law... well, not really, just sounds trekkie like.

The Earth versions are simply Earth's where nations can claim and rp on a 'earth', by claiming territory, and rping on that earth, usually exclusively of all other versions. Check some of the stickies in Inter. Incidents for links to these versions.

However to rp in them is purely optional. You don't hve to if you don't want to. There's rpers that play on a super-mega-gigantic-earth of their own making, with nations that choose to do the same, without any 'Earth' label.

There's a ton of options and all that, but it'll serve you better to read through all the stickes, if at least in a cursory manner, to understand all the concepts better. (For one, Earth vs. non-Earth rps, FT vs. MT and even magic tech types, ala ala much more.)

Just take the time and participate enough, and you'll find out how you want to rp here.

I ended up becoming a Future Tech nation among the stars, rather than a Erath Modern tech rper. But I 'did' start on Earth-VI for a short while, just to get my feet wet, and to meld my own style in place.

But most of all, and despite what else you may see from time to time, take the time to have fun with it all. Don't pressure yourself, just have fun. =^^=
