Weather
What determines how good weather a nation has? It's really puzzling me, unlike most UN reports.

Amount of sunlight, amount of clouds, amounts of rainfall, etc. etc.
I think its the better the enviroment, the better the weather.

Thing is, pollution makes for more interesting and beautiful weather. The weather thing should always have been reversed with regards to a nation's environmental policies.
Consider the awesome sunsets after Krakatoa exploded, hurling vast amounts of dust and debris into the atmosphere.
Lastly it really doesn't make sense that weather is poorer, that the climate is any different in a nation with one kind of policy or another - weather really doesn't give a shit about a nation's policies, it tends to do it's own thing.
So it's not realistic.
But then neither is NS.

pollution does affect weather.
It puts aerosols into the air which increase rain. It can also cause acid rain. there's also smog and haze, stuff like that.
if your environment is good, lush forests are different from barren wastelands in terms of temperature and precipitation.
Heavily industrial areas are in general hotter than rural ones.
Sorry for the science lesson, but it seemed as though someone might be interested.
I'm not so sure. My nation has very little industry, and what we have is dominated by the IT sector. We are described as "environmentally stunning" and have "many lush forests" (bamboo forests, to be exact); we also spend a fair amount of our small GDP on protecting our environment. Yet our weather is rated pretty awful. I suspect that there is at least some degree of randomness in the rating? After all, "good" weather is kinda subjective...

Eh. It's more than just your Enviro rankings, otherwise they'd be the same. I don't know specifically what's involved, but "Best Weather" is one of those rather complicated ones that only people with access to the core code can guess at.
I was environmentally stunning yesterday, and ranked 124,551 in the world for Best Weather. Today i have a barren, inhospitable landscape though...
I have heavy industry though.
