I am looking for a region to call home, here is a bit about my contry!
The Queendom of Belles Fleurs is a small, safe nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, cynical population of 9 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.
The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, socially-minded morass -- is effectively ruled by the Department of Religion & Spirituality, with areas such as Defence and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 43%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Automobile Manufacturing.
Citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, bicyclists are banned from major roads, euthanasia is legal, and genetic researchers have been expelled. Crime is totally unknown. Belles Fleurs's national animal is the Artic Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Puka Shells.
I have good civil rights, a developing economy, and no political freedoms. And region that has countries similar to mine, i would move in in a hert beat. A smaller redion i would like better, but a large, powerflu sprawling one ould bother me either.
