This page attempts to answer the most common questions in relation to the project.
What is NationStates?
NationStates (http://nationstates.net) is a very popular online political/nation simulation/game. People create their own nations, and make decisions as to how their nations evolve. A lot of people also roleplay anything to do with their nations on the online forums (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/forum.cgi).
What is the purpose of this project?
One thing which is lacking from NationStates is a sense of geography. Nations are grouped into regions, and while some nations and regions have their own maps, there is no universal method of determining the position of one nation from another. This project aims to solve this problem by giving each region coordinates in a virtual world.
Can I submit my region?
OLD: Only if you are the founder or UN representative of your region. If you are not, petition your founder or UN representative to submit the region. Please note that your region must also have AT LEAST 10 (ten) nations.
NEW: Yes, as long as your region has at least 10 nations.
How do I submit my region?
Go to this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=401073). Just give post the name of your region and the top left coordinates that you wish to occupy, and the Spaamanian representative will update the project as soon as possible. Note that the area you wish to occupy MUST be completely free. However, the representative can handle some degree of error.
How big will my region be?
Your region will occupy a square area that contains approximately the same number of squares as nations.
My region was not placed exactly where wanted!
This is because there were certain circumstances that required your region to be places somewhere slightly different. If you have a problem, post in the offical thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=401073).
Can I make changes to the position/size of my region?
ONLY if the size of your region has changed to a sufficient degree that requires a shift in position/size. Apart from that, once your region is submitted, it cannot be changed.
My region is l33t, I want more area!
No.
My region only has 9 nations, can I submit it?
Only if you persuade another nation to join. The size requirement is twofold: to encourage the growth of regions, and to discourage regions that will not last.
How do I get into contact with the Spaamanian representative?
This thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=401073) only. Do NOT telegram Spaam. Questions and submissions received via telegram will be ignored. Repeated telegrams will result in your nation being blocked and/or reported to the gods (mods).
What is Spaam?
Spaam (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=Spaam) is a nation of over 4 billion people in the South East corner of
the Heartland (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=The_Heartland). Former world football (soccer) power, the nation is famous for its l33t programmers, spam sushi, and charming males.

If you are a regional delegate or founder, then post here with the upper left hand coordinates that you wish to occupy, and the name of your region, and the Spaamanian delegate will update the project as soon as possible!

Its up to you. This isn't the RL world/

well, my region only has 1-2 people in it, anyone want to join? if we can get 10 we can be large enough to be on the map! (and surrounded by a swirling vortex that destroys all ships)

but if possible, can i reserve the center of the world?

i checked it, but i dont fully get how co-ordinates work, but my region disbanded and became the "Earth Alliance", if anyone wants to join!

Seeing as there is a lack of interest amongst Delegates, I have relaxed that requirement. Now you can add your region, even if you are not a delegate or founder.

As the founder and delegate of Moperville, I'd like to ask for the inclusion of our fair region :) We've been around for over a year, and require 33 squares (ahhh...sadly, I remember the glory days when there were 88 of us...)

i had 11, but i went down to 9, i may have ten tomorrow though.

i have 12 nations, i can be on the map now! As for co-ordinates, would like to be in bottom right of (90,90), bottom left of (180,90) top right of (90,180) and top left of (180,180) so that im sort of a really small speck ( not that small of a speck, lol) at the center of the current 4x4 (enlarged version, with buttons to click for co-ordinates that show the regions in that area) map. If thats ok. Oh, and my region's is the "Earth Alliance"

I would like to add the Rolling Blue Hills to the Map at 160, 160.

I would like Canada Alliance to be on the map, we are a reagon of 10+ people and would like to be located near North America, but anywhere is fine.

I have to ask, what happens when regions grow? Do you update the map to accomodate growth?

The Region of Eternal Dimensons, with it's current 80 nations, would like to be added to this project, at the following sector region.

In the Sector Square of (180,0) We'd like the the interior sectors starting at (210, 0)

I was drawn attention to this project by another nation in our region, so do know your project is gaining attention. We are proud to be a part of it.
