Hey, I have had a nation as a modern RP for quite a while, but now I want to start a space based RP, can I get some assistance here? I really have no clue what I am doing.

Wow, starting off as MT and then moving on to FT, not easy, I would try that with my nation but this seems much easier, and since I usually take the easy way out, I stand before you a broken man.

You don't have to go as far as I did with it; you could inquire about buying tech and then close the thread after you get one or two offers. Had I done that, I'd probably have my space colonies by now :D
