OOC: Hi All,

I've had a cursory read, and this whole thing seems much much bigger than I originally realised. I need the help of experienced people...

I've created a new nation (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=the_honest_speakers) and have the following, personal objectives:

1. To learn how to indulge in this virtual political arena.
2. To improve my nation's standing.
3. To start to play on the regional and then international arena as, and when, I'm ready.

Many thanks for all constructive input.

I would suggest that you read a few RP guides, and then have a go at some RPs yourself in international incidents. Good RP-ers generally have the best reputations within the community.

I would suggest that you read a few RP guides.Thanks. Got any recommendations? Is RP the only way? I'm not in the UN, so can I ignore the "rest of the world" for the moment? What about the rest of my region?

Many thanks.

Many thanks.

There are other ways, but RPers tend to have the best reputations. For example, there is a player called Wolfish (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/99421/page=display_nation/nation=wolfish) who is very famous for his RPing and his help with other players. You could follow in his example, as many people, both new and old, have done.

UN involvement will also help you, because people who write good proposals and debates for or against resolutions are also respected. Again, Wolfish has provided some good proposals, and his skills allowed his proposal to be made into a Resolution (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=UN_past_resolutions/start=30)

I would recommend you stay in your region, because It is a "feeder" region where newer players are made, and they also have some of the most helpful people I've ever met on this game. Moving into a new region may sour your iinterest in the game. It's best that you stay in your feeder region so you can get used to playing the game with an experienced player helping you. (more likely then not, this will be your UN delegate)

Hope this helps :)
