More or less. Though some things people do can change the birthrate a little and some nations were affected when there was a virus a good while back.

Yes, the population is a function of the age of a nation. In days, with around 3-5% growth per day

It's not a percentage. Population goes up 1 million a day for a while, then goes up between 5-8 million a day.

If you want the best way to check a nations age, click on the nations name on the forums and select profile. There you will see their join date.

Population can be a signifier of total overall time on NationStates, but within role-playing and what-not, other factors can deteremine age.

If they were deleted and ressurected after the move to Jolt, their original join date will be remembered.

If they were deleted prior to the move to Jolt then resurected, they will have a new join date, but their population will be a clue that the nation is actually older.

The problem with using population as the gage of nation age is that population growth is not consistant. A younger nation can have a higher population than an older nation.
