I would gladly take some help.
It would seem that I have not been here for a while.
Welcome, Dys Dragon.

It's a Unix quirk. It often pops up when you are new to the forums. It will correct itself.

Yes. Either that or you're a time traveler...
I've seen bugs like that before. The old NationStates forums had December 31, 1969, though. You are not alone. And this thread probably should be in Technical.
[You know, it may actually be 8:00 PM Dec. 31, 1969 as well; remember, this forum is set to GMT, while the old NationStates phpBB forum was set to US Eastern. Welcome to the game, Dys Dragon. --Felix]

Knife Wielding Drunks

I just founded The Confederacy of Knife Wielding Drunks. We are a new and ambitious nation, but have no freaking idea how this works exactly. I now I have to answer issues and such, but it seems to be more complex than that. Anyone who is experienced willing to give me a few hints? Also, any other new folks want to try to band together and try to learn cooperatively?
I've only been here a little over a month or so. I just kind of jumped in with both feet but did a LOT of reading through the forums first.
From my experiences, which ever you choose on an issue, expect it to be really magnified when it gets applied to your nation.
Also what do you want to do here on NS?
The region where my main nation resides is populated mostly by others from my 'home' MB - Exisle (http://www.exisle.net/mb/index.php) and most of them aren't RPers, so I've pretty much come in to the forums on my own.
If you want war gameing and or politics it seems as if II and Gameplay are the fora for that. If you wanter broader RP NationStates has a huge variety of various types of RP ( fantasy, future tech, etc )
There are also a huge number of regions you can join - look them over and find one whose "talking points" seem to be compatable with yours - some are into invasions, some are heavy RP, others are pure party animals.

The best advice I can give to a newbie is 'read the stickies'; I've been playing for the best part of 10 months and I still put my foot in it occasionally. Even read the ones in forums that you aren't intending to post in, so you know vaguely what you're talking about. And good luck, it's a Digital Darwinian UniverseTM out there, where the stupid and incompetent are regularly DEATed for flaming in Moderation.
