Hey, guess what, the Catholic Church before the 1300s and probably for a while after didn't care about homosexual activities so long as a full grown adult wasn't in the passive role. Even then they generally turned a blind eye to the act. Also, there is no condemnation of homosexuality in Hindu scriptures. Last time I checked they were a major religion.

They only refer to the anatomy of the condition and not to the genetic aspect, and hermaphroditism is otherwise used to describe animals whose normal condition is to have two sexes at some point during their life cycles, something which doesn't apply to humans and does not apply to the intersexed as they are in an overwhelming amount of "cases" of neither sex; not two sexes at the same time or one sex at some time and the other later.

Also being compared to and called a term that applies to animals is pejorative.

A lot of societies condemned or looked down on the passive but not active partner in homosexual relationships. It was just misogyny. The passive partner was compared to a woman.
Lesbian relationships were usually ignored. Afterall, a woman was primarily a childbearer. As long as the paternity of children wasn't in question, who cared how she entertained herself.
Today our society still carries these prejudices. :headbang:
