I was wondering, what are the attitudes that people hold towards the use of puppets in RP. Myself, I dont use mine in RPs, however I have noticed some negative attitudes towards this, I am hoping that someone could be able to tell me why this is...

Depends on how it is used.
Some people want to use their puppets to increase their military power, not exactly fair. It is called puppetwanking and not very popular indeed.
Some people create a puppet for an Rp, the population of the puppet does not count in this case. Example: I could create a puppet 'Rebel Vermin' to keep the posts of my government and my rebels seperated.

Hope it answers your question

Puppets are frowned upon to boost your power, unless of course - your opponent gives you permission to use them that way.

Having another account to do another roleplay style - Ie, one of my puppets is extremly capitalist, which I want to roleplay as with that account sometimes, is perfectly fine.

Sometimes, I go to war against one of my puppets. Most of them I just use as background information at this point.

with the exception of the part about using them to boost your military without the agreement of your opponent, most are pretty uptight about it. Me, I don't care. As long you let me know, of course.

I've used one of my puppets in a war against my main country before. Puppetwanking is a definite no-no though.
