Sol Sector

World Factbook Entry: Sector 001, referred to as Sol Sector, is at the heart of an interstellar alliance of planetary governments and colonies. The members of Sol Sector are organized under the unifying goals of peaceful coexistence, science, exploration, and mutual defense. Its territory encompasses several dozen sectors in both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, spread across 8,000 light-years.

The Government is organized as a republic, where the member planets form semi-autonomous districts. Authority is delegated to the Federation Council.


What originally started off as purely a FT Region has now grown to include any and all who would like to join. We now have 20 nations in our Region, and we are growing every day.

As a Region, we feel we can represent all walks of life, whether your Government is Fascist, Conservative, Liberal, Social, Communist, Anarchist, or whatever you happen to be - you are all welcome to join. UN membership is not compulsory, but it is supported - the current Delegate is the same person as the Founder - and he (me) retains Regional Control.

We do, of course, have a Regional forum for which everyone is welcome to post in - these have just moved to a new domain and are not currently operational - but will be within 48 hours.

How far away from Earth in all directions does your territory spread? Keep in mind my region of space starts only 912.8 lightyears from Earth. And major portions of those sectors already belong to a variety of peoples not in your alliance, many of whom are far older and far bigger.

Just a question I wanted to ask, as that amount of territory seems a little big.

You people forget that so many people make home on earth that no one can really claim it, because so many nations live there.

Also, just about every planet and moon in the Sol system is inhabitted, and quite a few have their own governments. That's ignoring the nation that exists almost entirely in Earth Orbit.

I don't claim anywhere that Earth is under my control, because I acknowledge that there are thousands of other Nations there.

However, and there have been topics on this by and for FT nations, as there are 'alternate' Earths - it has been recognised that there can be 'alternate' Galaxies and Universes - so that everyone can claim what they would like to (within reason).

DLE - think of it like the Star Trek of old. In the 'Alpha Quadrant' you have the United Federation of Planets, the Cardassian Union, the Tkon Empire, the Tholian Assembly, the Breen Confederacy, the Ferengi Alliance, the First Federation, the Patriarchy, the Promellians, the Tzenketh, the Talarian Republic...

In the 'Beta Quadrant' you have the United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, the Klingon Empire, the Gorn Hegemony, the Metron Consortium, the Hromi Cluster, the Briar Patch, the Delta Triangle...

Suffice to say, the UFP does not encompass the entirety of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants by any stretch of the imagination.
As the Sol Sector Region (and the Federation of Aligned Planets) is based upon the United Federation of Planets - then our territories match up.

There is more (!!) than enough room for everyone :-)

For instance, from Earth to Cardassia, it is only roughly 150 Light Years. The expanse of Sol Sector is not 8,000 LY in all directions, but that merely marks the outermost limit of one of our colonies :-)

And yes, it would be logical for you all to move to Sol Sector - as we have the bigger Region and we have the Regional forums, plus two Storefronts - one FT space and one MT naval :)

Heh - that'd be telling ;-) And no, the answer isn't having all puppets there...I find managing one nation tiresome enough!
